Classic
Car Show Whiteman Park 20th March 20 March - Whiteman Park Classic Car Show. All members are
urged to attend.
You need to be there by 8.30am and stay until about 3.30pm.
Meet a committee member who will
be inside the Dulwich Street entrance to collect your entry ticket.
This event is
a major opportunity to display what our club can offer by the way of bike
restoration and fellowship.
We always get an enthusiastic crowd whenever the
Scout or Prince is fired up.
We may get even more if the Indian Hill Climber is
sparked up.
Several members will be camping over at our site on the Saturday
night. Bring your own supplies and tent/swag.
Please advise a committee member
if you wish to camp over. Regards
Glen

Sir Jack Brabham has agreed to attend the event, be our guest of honour and be present for naming the “D” circuit “The Sir Jack Brabham Reserve.”
This is great news and I know motoring enthusiasts will be looking forward to meeting him on the day. On Saturday evening, the 14 th of November, we will be holding a “Meet and Greet” at the Club House from 6.30 - 8.30 to welcome Sir Jack back to Caversham and to hear him reminisce about his experiences, not only at the circuit but as a three- time world champion.
This will be a ticket only affair and the numbers will be limited. Finger foods, beer and wine will be provided at a cost of $60 per head. The politicians, at both State and Local level, and representatives from the other organisations that have helped us with Caversham will be invited as special guests. This will give them an opportunity to meet Sir Jack, but more importantly, to see the Club Rooms and have an understanding of what we are fighting to save.
Historic Aircraft are flying in on the day. We expect up to twelve aircraft, including a rare Stinson, a Steerman, Tiger Moths and a Chipmunk.
There will be twenty five car and motorbike club displays, entertainment for families, an autokana, vintage bus rides and tours around the “D” circuit.
PROGRAM
CAVERSHAM HISTORIC MOTORING FAIR.
6.30am. Gates Open.
7.00am. Food vendors/sideshows would need to be set up. They may do this the day before.
7.30am. Team Briefing on the day’s events. Time sheets given out.
8.00am. Scrutineering for Autokana entrants.
9.20am. Driver briefing for Autokana entrants.
9.30am Car Clubs finish setting up their displays.
9.30am. Autokana starts.
9.30am. Public entry.
10.00am Vintage buses start a FREE service around the circuits.
10.30am. Vintage planes fly-past and land.
12.30pm. Autokana finishes.
12.30pm Start of historic speedway demonstration.
1.00pm Official Ceremony; naming Sir Jack Brabham Reserve.
1.10pm. Start of the Parade laps for participating Motoring Clubs.
Each Club will be called up over the P/A and, under the direction of the Marshals, will
commence their parade laps following a pace car around the circuit.
The commentator will be given a set of notes from each Club prior to the event. These will
be used in the commentary to describe the make-up and activities of that club and the cars
and drivers.
3.00pm. Vintage planes take off and execute a fly-past as they leave.
4.00pm. Close of the day .

Burt Munro Cabinet in
an Invercargill Arcade
Glasshape supplied
the glass needed for the security cabinet to protect the Burt Munro Motorbike
for display in Invercargill. Thanks to the Architect and installation team for
the outstanding finish! Here are some snapshots of the opening ceremony, with Mr
Tim Shadbolt [Southland Mayor] cutting the ribbon!! The curved cabinet looks
terrific!
Glasshape used
‘GuardShield’ intruder resistant laminate coupled with toughened glass to meet
the security standards required for this glass cabinet. The overall thickness
was 12 mm, including the ultra robust laminate which preserves the masterpiece
inside the cabinet, should it ever be
attacked. | The
finished article is an ultra-clear, intruder resistant non-scratching glass
cabinet which has amazing aesthetics, very pleasing to the
eye.
